A podcast about Modern Heathen Living, with a slant towards home making.
In main episodes we discuss a topic of importance to modern heathenry, share information about an herb, household hints, and a practical section that covers things such a meditation, divination, survival, camping, and ritual.
In Story Telling episodes we have an audio play of a folk or fairy tale.
And in Saga episodes, we tell a saga, with character voices, and break down the meaning of the words and actions. And every show has a new recipe to try.
All of our recipes from each podcast are posted here on our site in the show notes for their respective podcast. You can see them all on the podcast page.
We've also got a smattering of videos with garden tours, crafty videos, and other assorted endeavors.
This week we are talking about Housewights, and wights in general. We explore the linguistic roots of the words, and some history and traditions from various cultures, and a few taboos.
The household hint is for blocking weeds, the herb section is about mid-winter edibles, wildcrafting, and plant allies, and the practical section is about navigating without a compass, or a watch.
The recipe this week is for dry roasting ribs in your crock pot, along with a dry rub and homemade bbq sauce.
Across the Hedge is home to the projects and craziness of Shawna Jones of Járnsmiður Kindred.

I'm also working on getting the shop setup and moved over to this site. I'm testing out various shopping carts and back ends.
My blog includes writings about my crafts, some patterns that I have created, recipes, ravings and rants about various pet peeves, and other frayed ends.
Across the Hedge will always remain a free podcast. However, there are costs that go along with producing a show. Right now we are trying to raise enough money to cover our hosting costs ($20/month), which I am currently paying out of my own pocket. There are 3 big ways you can help us out.
If you would like to make a one time donation, or other wise not use Patreon to help support us, you can use PayPal.
Donations made like this come with a special perk! We will read a message for you on air on our next podcast. (Providing of course it is appropriate) You can enter your message on the next screen. Be sure to sign your name!
Want to help out, but low on cash? Spread the word about our podcast. Share with your Tribes and Kindreds!
And leave us a review on iTunes. Reviews on iTunes will help us show up in the store and related content when people are searching. Don't know how? No worries, we have an easy guide (I had to look it up too).
